As progressives it is critical that we support of those progressive Democratic candidates that are in primary contests with non-progressives. The need for progressives to be more involved in the Democratic Party is made obvious by all the Democrats who have lacked moral courage in dealing with issues like the authorization for the invasion of Iraq, the Patriot Act, the Kioto Protocol, and deficit spending for tax cuts for the wealthy. If we don't support the voices that take a stand for our values during the primaries, then we must be the first to accept responsibility for the failure of elected Democrats to uphold progressive positions. Our Party will be what we make of it. While it is our duty to give our time and resources in support of our Democracy, we are fortunate to have courageous individuals willing to represent us. Please pass this information on to friends.
